Jonathan is a Florida native who believes that everyone needs a safe place to explore, grow, and heal in the presence of another. Throughout his career, Jonathan has worked with various populations. His interests began with trauma, criminal behavior, domestic violence, and attachment studying violent behavior patterns to reduce adolescent delinquency. In doing so, he achieved a bachelor’s degree in criminology and earned a master’s degree in forensic psychology. He immediately began working as a direct care team member in residential treatment and as a lead youth behavioral specialist.

In 2017, Jonathan moved to North Pole, Alaska, with his wife and set his goal on gaining clinical experience across various platforms. In Alaska, he split time earning a Master’s in Social Work and as a Behavioral Health Specialist in the Army National Guard working with soldiers, families, and adolescents. Before joining Innova Recovery, Jonathan gained extensive experience as a lead counselor and group facilitator for a women’s shelter and Batterer’s Intervention program helping those suffering from various concerns, including trauma recovery, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, and dissociation. He has experience working with at-risk youth, offenders, domestic violence victims, mood and anxiety disorders, attachment struggles, and depression.

Jonathan is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilizes a solution-focused approach in combination with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He believes that developing one’s self-concept and support network is at the core of leading a healthy, productive life. He enjoys road trips with his family, trail running, hiking, and reading in his free time.
